A creative session dedicated to the art of the Junk Journal

Saturday April 18th

1 - 4pm

Join us at The Annex for a workshop that redefines scrapbooking. Junk Journaling is the art of "creative scavenging"—turning ticket stubs, jar labels, postcards, and everyday odds and ends into a soulful, tactile record of your life. It’s the ultimate way to "contemplate the infinite possibilities" found in the items we usually toss away.

In this introductory session, we are ditching the "perfect" scrapbook aesthetic and embracing the beauty of the lived-in life. We’ll start at the very beginning by crafting an "About Me" entry, where you can use a mix of your own "junk" and our curated supplies to create a multi-layered mosaic of who you are right now.

The Workshop Experience

This afternoon is designed to help you see the creative potential in the mundane:

  • Creative Composition: Learn how to compose entries using non-traditional materials like packaging, textured paper, washi tape, and stickers.

  • The Art of Layering: We’ll show you how to layer these "scraps" to tell a story that words alone can’t capture.

  • The Takeaway: You’ll head home with your first completed entry in your journal and the inspiration you need to keep hunting for treasures and building your mosaic at home.
