It’s finally here! We are kicking off our spring sewing series at The Annex Collective with a true summer staple: The Canvas Weekend Boat Tote.
Hosted by Gabrielle Goguen of The Tailored Studio, this workshop is designed for you to show up, disconnect from the digital world, and rediscover the joy of slow sewing.
The Project
We’re making a traditional, rugged boat tote crafted from waterproof canvas. This bag is massive—large enough to fit the "kitchen sink" (or at least everything you need for a beach day, a market haul, or a weekend getaway). It’s a timeless, functional piece designed for everyone.
The Details
When: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (We’re keeping the studio open until 6:00 PM for those who want to take their time and finish at a relaxed pace!)
The Experience: We’ve handled the prep so you can focus on the craft. All fabric is pre-purchased and pre-cut, with all thread and notions provided.
Make It Your Own (Optional Add-Ons)
1. The Prep Enthusiast (Friday, April 24th) Want to learn the "why" behind the construction? Add a Friday Day Pass. Gabrielle will be at the studio from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM to personally teach you how to pin and cut your own fabric from scratch.
2. The Custom Finisher (Saturday, May 9th) Give your tote some personality by adding on our Charm Making Workshop. Create a custom, handcrafted charm to pair perfectly with your new bag.
